Kan. bill seeks to expand tribal policing

The Kansas Legislature is considering a bill to expand tribal police powers.

The bill would authorize tribal jurisdiction over tribal lands and on roads leading to reservations. A tribe would have to request the expansion of powers.

Kansas has four federally-recognized tribes.
