Republicans in Minn. want more from gaming tribes

printer friendly
House Republicans in Minnesota predicted approval of non-Indian gaming this year unless tribes with casinos pony up a "better deal" for the state.

The lawmakers released a budget plan that depends on $30 million from a proposed "racino" at a horsetrack. House Speaker Steve Sviggum said tribes would have to offer a lot more if they want the racino defeated. Sviggum also said other gaming options are on the table, including a casino at the Mall of America.
