Tribes with new compacts already plan to expand

Leaders of three tribes who signed new gaming compacts discussed the deals at a press conference on Tuesday.

The Pauma Band will be able to open a bigger casino thanks to the deal, chairman Chris Devers. The tribe's current casino has about 850 slot machines but will offer at least 2,000 at a new $250 million facility.

The Pala Band plans to test the waters first by adding 200 to 300 machines, chairman Robert Smith said. The tribe is currently at the limit of 2,000 machines.

The third tribe at the press conference was the Viejas Band. The tribe's CEO said there is no rush to add more slot machines at the casino, also at the 2,000 limit.
