Narragansett Tribe's challenge to gaming rejected

printer friendly
The Narragansett Tribe's challenge to two existing gaming facilities in Rhode Island was rejected on Tuesday.

The tribe asked state attorney general Patrick C. Lynch to investigate the legality of the Lincoln Park and Newport Grand facilities. The tribe cited a court ruling that said privately-run gaming operations violated the state constitution.

Lynch, however, said he found no evidence that the two facilities were violating the law. He said the court's ruling distinguished the tribe's proposed casino from the video lottery at the facilities.
