The city council in Garden Grove, California, voted unanimously against a proposed casino near Disneyland.
Word surfaced last week that the Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians wanted to build a large resort in the city. Officials had met with Las Vegas casino developer Steve Wynn.
The mayor opposed the idea and city council members decided that a casino would hurt the city's image as a family destination.
