Alabama attorney general releases gaming report

printer friendly
Alabama Attorney General Troy King released the findings of his investigation into gaming facilities in the state but did not discuss the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

King said several gaming sites are operating illegal machines. He plans to seek a court order to shut down or remove the machines.

King has voiced concerns about the machines used by the Poarch Band and visited the tribe's facilities as part of his investigation. He met with outgoing U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and the National Indian Gaming Commission but said he wouldn't talk about the tribe.
