Lytton Band vows lawsuit over casino delay bill

printer friendly
The Lytton Band of Pomo Indians plans to sue the federal government if a bill delaying a proposed casino is passed into law, a spokesperson said.

The tribe has 9 acres of trust land in San Pablo, California. The bill would bar Class II or Class III gaming unless the tribe goes through the lengthy two-part determination process that requires approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and concurrence by the state governor.

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee approved S.113 by a 10-3 vote last Wednesday.
