The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut asked a federal judge on Monday to shut down a web site named foxwood.com.
The tribe said the site's address is too similar to foxwoods.com, the official site for the Foxwoods Resort Casino.
The tribe says Raymond Redican Jr., the owner of foxwood.com, is confusing Internet surfers and violating the casino's trademark.
Redican registered the site in 1997. The casino opened in 1992. The tribe says Redican once demanded $20 million to give up the name.
