Group pulls out of casino project in Kansas

printer friendly
The Gillmann Group, a casino developer, has pulled out of the Delaware Tribe's proposed casino in Kansas.

The group was helping the tribe, based in Oklahoma, with a land-into-trust application for 80 acres in Kansas. The tribe planned to open a $250 million casino on the land.

Since then, the Delawares have been taken off the list of federally recognized tribes as part of a lawsuit filed by the Cherokee Nation. The state also refused to negotiate a compact with the tribe.
