California gaming sites questioned by NIGC

printer friendly
The National Indian Gaming Commission is questioning the legality of two casino sites in California, Copley News Service reports.

The NIGC hired a title company to conduct title searches on the Smith River Rancheria and the Mooretown Rancheria. Both sites were brought to NIGC's attention by the Interior Department's Inspector General, who conducted an investigation into the matter.

Separately, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is questioning the legality of one of the casinos owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. But the NIGC says this site is legal.
