Executive: Foxwoods.com gets 12M hits a month

Foxwoods.Com, the official web site for the Foxwoods Resort Casino, got 12 million hits during the month of July, an executive testified during a recent cybersquatting trial.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation uses the site to market the casino to gamblers, to sell tickets for events and to take restaurant and hotel reservations. The site is not to be confused with foxwood.com, which was the subject of the cybersquatting trial.

In a 23-page decision [PDF: Ruling], a federal judge ordered the operator of foxwood.com to turn over his site to the tribe by December 19. The judge said the man violated cybersquatting and unfair trade laws.

The man, Ray Redican Jr. of Massachusetts, plans to appeal the decision. He was cleared of five out of seven counts in the case.
