Snoqualmie Tribe ready to start work on casino

printer friendly

After five years of waiting, the Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington celebrated approval of its land-into-trust application. Now the real work for a $90 million Snoqualmie Casino starts.

The tribe is planning a 150,000-square-foot gaming center with restaurants, a cigar bar and areas for live entertainment. The casino will feature 10 to 15 poker tables, 675 slot machines and table games.

Construction on the facility will start in June. Work is expected to be completed by fall 2007.

The tribe partnered with Jerry Moyes, an Arizona-based developer, for the casino. Moyes, who owns the Phoenix Coyotes NHL team, invested nearly $10 million in the project, The Seattle Times reported. He will get 30 percent of net revenues.
