The Buena Vista of Me-Wuk Indians is preparing a new environmental report for its proposed casino in Amador County, California.
The tribe is proposing to build a 70,000-square-foot casino on its 67-acre reservation. The National Indian Gaming Commission issued a favorable ruling on the site [Land Determination].
But before the tribe can build, it has to submit an environmental report to the state. Gov. Arnold Schwarnezegger (R) rejected the first report so the tribe is working with the county on a new one.
