The state of New York doesn't want to shut down the Oneida Nation because of the jobs it provides, attorney general Eliot Spitzer said on Thursday.
'Nobody is going to immediately move to close a business that is ... employing thousands of people," he said, The Albany Times-Union reported.
Spitzer is running for governor. He has said he will re-examine state-tribal relations if he is elected. He says he will force the collection of tobacco and gasoline taxes on reservations.
