The Puyallup Tribe of Washington plans to continue distributing per capita payments despite being hit with a notice of violation by the National Indian Gaming Commission.
The tribe distributes $2,000 a month to each member. According to The Tacoma News Tribune, the payments accounted for 65 percent of the tribe’s $134 million in net gaming revenues last year.
NIGC thinks that's too much. The agency said the tribe is not complying with its federally-approved revenue allocation plan to distribute 35.4 percent of net revenues.
The tribe says NIGC's calculations are erroneous and is appealing [Notice of Violation].
