The Bois Forte Band of Chippewa have broken ground on a $13 million expansion of the Fortune Bay Resort Casino.
The project will add 60 rooms to the existing 120-room hotel. Other upgrades will be made in hopes of addressing growing demand for lodging and amenities at the casino.
Fortune Bay has about 500 employees and an annual payroll of $10 million.
