Randolph Baker, a longtime casino executive, has been named the first chairman of the Sycuan Institute on Tribal Gaming at San Diego State University.
Baker began his duties last week. He will oversee the first research institute and academic curriculum focused on tribal gaming.
The Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians funded the institute with a $5.5 million donation. The tribe hopes the institute will pave the way for a new generation of Indian gaming leaders.
