The Jamul Indian Village in southern California is releasing a new environmental impact statement for its proposed on-reservation casino.
The San Diego Union-Tribune obtained an advance copy of the report. The paper says the length document examines 16 major environmental issues surrounding the $250 million project.
Some residents are opposing the casino due to its size. The tribe decided to build the facility on the reservation after its land-into-trust application for a different site was met with delays.
