More study sought of Mohawk casino in Catskills

Tracking casino proposals across Indian Country.
The National Resources Defense Council wants the Bureau of Indian Affairs to conduct more study on the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe's proposed casino in the Catskills of New York.

The NRDC says the environmental assessment released by the BIA this week is insufficient. The group wants a full environmental impact statement completed.

The tribe filed an application to acquire 30 acres in trust for the casino. The site is about 380 miles from the reservation.
