The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe supports a bill that would restrict off-reservation gaming but other Wisconsin tribes are opposed.
The Potawatomis support H.R.4893, which is up for a vote today, because it would block the Menominee Nation from building a rival off-reservation casino. The Menominees, though, oppose the measure.
So do the St. Croix and Bad River bands of Chippewa. Their off-reservation casino would be barred by the measure.
The Ho-Chunk Nation also opposes the bill even through the tribe does not support the St. Croix/Bad River casino.
