Navajo president signs deal for gaming consultant

Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. has signed an agreement in principle with a gaming consultant.

Basha & De Rito Hospitality of Phoenix will provide consulting and development services as the tribe seeks to start its gaming enterprise. The tribe has several casinos in the works. The first casino would be in Arizona, off Interstate 40.

A final agreement hasn't been signed by Navajo Nation Council delegates have questioned whether Shirley has the authority to enter into a deal without their approval.
