Opponents of an off-reservation casino in Oregon released a study that urges the Warm Springs Tribe to stay on the reservation.

The Warm Springs Tribe signed a compact for an off-reservation casino in the Cascade Locks. In return for Gov. Ted Kulongoski's support, the tribe agreed not to build a casino on an environmentally sensitive site in Hood River.

But the study from the Coalition for Oregon's Future says the Hood River casino is not feasible so there is no reason to support a Cascade Locks casino. The coalition says the tribe should drop both sites and stick to the reservation.

The study was financed by the Grand Ronde Tribe, whose leaders oppose off-reservation gaming. The tribe is paying for a new round of TV ads against the Cascade Locks casino.
