Ads blast Wisconsin governor over gaming tribes

A series of campaign ads blast Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D) for his association with gaming tribes.

Republican challenger Mark Green, who currently serves in the U.S. House, accuses Doyle of changing his mind on gaming after he received the donations. Green's ad claims that Doyle took "millions" but The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel says the figure is not accurate because it included money that tribes spent on issue ads.

The Republican Governors Association is running another ad that also inflates tribal spending, the paper says. The ad claims the compact with the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe will result in fewer dollars going to the state, a scenario the paper says is plausible.

Doyle is running a few points ahead of Green in the polls.
