The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut won approval to build an $823 million casino in Philadelphia.
The tribe won one of two licenses for the city. The casino will be located on the waterfront in south Philadelphia.
The tribe will own 30 percent of the casino. Partners include Quincy Jones and local developers.
The project will be built in phases. The first phase will feature a casino with 3,000 slot machines, restaurants and retail shops. A hotel and more gaming space will be added in the second phase.
