Coyote Valley Band plans major new casino

The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians released a draft tribal environmental impact report last month, detailing plans for a major new casino on the reservation.

The tribe wants to build a 105,750 square-foot, a 200,000 square-foot hotel, a 25,000 square-foot entertainment hall and a 163,500 square-foot parking garage.

The tribe operates the Coyote Valley Shodakai Casino, a much smaller facility on its 70-acre reservation. The new project would take up 15 percent of the reservation, The Ukiah Daily Journal reported.
