Seminole Tribe wants land in trust for bigger casino
Tuesday, January 23, 2007
The Seminole Tribe of Florida wants to have land placed in trust to expand its casino in Coconut Creek. The Seminole Coconut Creek Casino sits on five acres of trust land in the city. The tribe has since purchased an additional 44 acres around the site. The tribe has filed a land-into-trust application with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in hopes of building a much larger casino and a 24-story, 1,500-room hotel. Nothing has been decided for sure, but the tribe's gaming CEO said that could change if Class III slot machines are allowed. Get the Story:
