First Nation opens Dakota Dunes Casino

The Whitecap Dakota First Nation of Saskatchewan opened the Dakota Dunes Casino on Thursday. The 84,000-square-foot casino features 620 slot machines, table games, a restaurant and buffet, a deli, a bar and a 7,000-square-foot multipurpose room. It cost $61 million (Canadian). "It's the best in Western Canada. There's nothing like it. It's done up the way a gaming facility should be done up," Chief Darcy Bear said, The Saskatoon StarPhoenix reported. The casino is about 16 miles south of Saskatoon, the most populous city in Saskatchewan. Get the Story:
