Nooksack Tribe starts serving liquor at casino

The Nooksack Tribe of Washington has started serving liquor at its new casino. After winning a court battle, the state Liquor Control Board issued a temporary permit for the Nooksack Northwood Casino on Friday. But officials in Whatcom County, who are opposing the license, have 10 days to appeal. “We’ve raised the concerns,” prosecuting attorney Dave McEachran told The Bellingham Herald. “They still haven’t heard them.” The tribe said it has followed the licensing process. "We have been a responsible neighbor at Nooksack River Casino and will continue to do so at Nooksack Northwood Casino," Chairman Narz Cunanan said. Get the Story:
