Colorado River Indian Tribes lay off casino employees

The Colorado River Indian Tribes laid off about 70 employees at the BlueWater Resort & Casino in Parker, Arizona.

The tribe cited the "declining economy and reduced patron counts" in making the cuts. "Like nearly everyone we are feeling the effects of high gas prices and a struggling economy," Chairman Daniel Eddy Jr. said in a statement.

Some tribal members said they were surprised by they layoffs. They are questioning how the tribe is managing its finances.
