Prairie Band set for mediation with former partner

printer friendly
The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas will enter into mediation with its former gaming partner as the result of a court ruling on Friday.

The tribe says Harrah's Entertainment is violating an agreement by pursuing a commercial casino in the state. Harrah's used to run the Prairie Band Casino & Resort under a federally-approved gaming management contract.

Judge David Bruns refused to block Harrah's from pursuing the casino but barred the gaming giant from using a customer list that was developed at the tribe's casino. He ordered the parties to enter into mediation within 30 days.
