Rival Seminole gaming compact bill advances

The Florida House voted 84-27 on a bill to limit the Seminole Tribe. to slot machines.

The bill gives the tribe exclusivity to offer slot machines outside of two counties where they are already legal. The tribe would be required to share about $100 million a year with the state.

The tribe signed a Class III gaming compact for slot machines and table games but the . agreement was struck down by the Florida Supreme Court. The House bill requires the tribe to get rid of the table games.

The Florida Senate passed a different bill to allow the tribe to keep all of its games in exchange for sharing more revenues with the state.
