Lawsuit seeks $15M from Mohegan casino in fatal crash

The estate of a woman who was killed in fatal car accident says the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut shares the blame for serving liquor to the driver.

Elizabeth Durante, 20, was killed on March 7, 2009, in an incident off the reservation. The driver, Daniel Musser, had been drinking at a nightclub at the Mohegan Sun.

Durante's family says the tribe and the nightclub shouldn't have served Musser, whose blood-alcohol content was over the state's legal limit. A lawsuit in tribal court seeks $15 million for negligence.

The lawyer who is representing the estate helped a man win $2.9 million from the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in a similar case.
