Station Casinos to accept bids on tribal gaming projects

As part of its bankruptcy plan, Station Casinos will entertain bids on its tribal gaming projects.

Station Casinos has entered into gaming management contracts with the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria of California, also known as the Coast Miwok Tribe; the Mechoopda Tribe of California; the North Fork Mono Rancheria of California; and the Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe.

Of the four projects, only the Gun Lake Casino is under construction. The rest are still in the federal review stage.

"Right now, it's too early to tell what impact this might have on the project," Shawn Pensoneau, a spokesman for the National Indian Gaming Commission, told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat when asked about the Graton casino.

A spokesperson for the Bureau of Indian Affairs said the Graton tribe's land-into-trust application would not be affected by a new development partner.
