The Shinnecock Nation says one community has already said no to a casino.
The tribe was considering the Enterprise Park at Calverton for development. "Riverhead has made no indication that it is actually interested," Trustee Lance Gumbs told The North Shore Sun. "I think that is a big mistake on the part of the East End."
The tribe says it wants to build up to three casinos on Long Island. One would be within commuting distance of the tribe's reservation, Gumbs said.
