City weighs next step in Mashpee Wampanoag casino land case

Officials in Fall River, Massachusetts, are still pushing for the sale of land to the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

The city wants to sell 300 acres to the tribe for a casino. But the $21 million land deal has been held up in the state court system.

City officials will meet tomorrow to discuss their next step in the case. An appeal to a higher state court is expected.

The tribe has already amended its land-into-trust application to include the Fall River site.
