Rep. John Garamendi (D-California) and Rep. Tom McClintock (R-California) support the Enterprise Rancheria off-reservation casino.
Garamendi's district, if he is re-elected, will include the proposed casino. He says the project will generate jobs.
McClintock, who has a favorable record on Indian issues, says the tribe isn't infringing on anyone's rights. His district includes the United Auburn Indian Community, whose leaders oppose the Enterprise project.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs approved the casino in September. Under the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act, Gov. Jerry
Brown (D) can veto it.
