"Downtown Tucson is relocating to the Pascua Yaqui Reservation.
This week Casino del Sol announced the construction of a resort called "Downtown Tucson" 12 miles west of Tucson's actual city center.
Pascua Yaqui Tribal Chairman Pee Wee Vasquez says it will feature a world-class convention hotel, baseball stadium, theaters, casinos, trendy restaurants and a 15,000-seat modern arena.
Vasquez said, "In Las Vegas 'The Venetian' brought Venice to life and 'New York New York' brought Manhattan to the West. Here we have a chance to create a downtown Tucson for families to actually enjoy. And we'll do it in six months.""
