Connecticut tribes report declines in slot machine revenues

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes reported declines in slot machine revenue for the month of April.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation reported a 13.4 percent drop in slot machine win, compared to a year earlier. The Mohegan Tribe saw a 10.9 percent decline.

"We experienced a decline on revenues in April 2012 compared with the same month last year, which had the benefit of an additional Friday and Saturday," Foxwoods' CEO Scott C. Butera said in a press release. "Similar to other retail and consumer based companies, the softness in April revenues comes on the heels of a fairly robust first quarter, so we remain cautiously optimistic about upcoming periods."
