Two local officials are asking the Bureau of Indian Affairs to overturn a deal affecting the Spokane Tribe off-reservation casino project.

The 2010 agreement bars Spokane County from taking a public position on the casino. Two county commissioners say the provision is illegal and they are asking new Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn to review the deal.

The BIA has published a draft environmental impact statement on the tribe's West Plains Mixed-Use Development project.
