Tribal casino crime reports from South Dakota and New Mexico

A former employee pleaded guilty to stealing from the casino owned by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, the The U.S. Attorney's Office in South Dakota said.

Michelle Carrier, 36, admitted to wire fraud and theft. She was the payroll clerk at the Rosebud Casino and stole money from February 2008 to June 2009.

In New Mexico, Calvin R. Trujillo, 25, was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $25,900 to Pojoaque Pueblo. He pleaded guilty to theft by an employee of a gambling establishment on Indian land while he was a slot machine supervisor at the Cities of Gold Casino.
