Twenty-Nine Palms Band to announce plans for new casino

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in California will announce plans today for its second casino near the city of Twentynine Palms.

The tribe plans a 30,000-square-foot facility with 500 slot machines, five table games and two poker tables. Retail, dining, entertainment and office space are also in the works.

The tribe expects to break ground next month.

The tribe currently operates the Spotlight 29 Casino on a different part of its land base in Coachella.
