The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians has cleared almost every hurdle in its decade-long quest for an off-reservation casino in California.

The last two hurdles rest in Washington, D.C. The National Indian Gaming Commission must approve a management contract with Station Casinos, the tribe's partner, while the Bureau of Indian Affairs will review the tribe's Class III gaming compact.

“We know from experience that these projects take time to materialize,” Station Casinos Chief Development Officer Scott Nielson told Casino City Times. “You have to have patience.”

Nielson said the casino will feature 2,000 slot machines, table games and other amenities.
