The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma are pushing the Bureau of Indian Affairs to approve a Class III gaming compact that authorizes Internet gambling.

The tribe agreed to share 20 percent of revenues from Internet games with the state. “This is an innovative plan that benefits everyone involved. It’s the definition of the win-win,” Gov. Janice Prairie-Chief Boswell said in a press release.

The tribe was operating Poker Tribes but agreed to shut down the social networking site after reaching the agreement with the state. The deal appears to be the first in Oklahoma that addresses Internet gaming.

The Navajo Nation signed a compact with the state of New Mexico that includes Internet gaming provisions.
