Ramona Band wins state approval of Class III gaming compact

The Ramona Band of Cahuilla Indians has won approval of its Class III gaming compact in the California Legislature.

The Senate passed AB 1245, a bill that ratifies the compact, by a vote of 37-0 on Tuesday. It cleared the Assembly in August by a vote of 73-0.

After the bill is signed by Gov. Jerry Brown (D), the compact can be sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for review. A copy of the agreement can be found on the governor's website.
