The Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama will be hosting a casino job fair on October 2.

The tribe plans to hire 500 full-time and part-time workers as part of the $246 million expansion of the Creek Casino Wetumpka. The bigger facility is due to open in January 2014.

The project has been controversial because the casino is located on Hickory Ground, a historic Creek site that includes a burial ground.
