Report: Poarch Creeks distributed $18K in casino per capita

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians distributed an $18,000 per capita payment to its members, AL.Com reported.

The tribe has been sharing gaming revenues since the early 1990s. Tribal member Myrtis Kinman said the first checks were for $100.

But thanks to the success of the tribe's growing Class II gaming enterprise, the payments have gone up. Revenues also fund tribal programs and donations for local schools and organizations.
