The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is firing back at a rival for a commercial casino in Massachusetts.

The tribe is bidding on a license for the eastern region of the state. Billionaire gaming mogul Steve Wynn is also in the running and has suggested he won't build a casino unless certain conditions are met.

"Unlike Wynn, our commitment is not contingent on anything,” Mitchell Etess, the chief executive of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, told The Boston Globe.

Etess also said the tribe won't favor its Connecticut casino, as Wynn had suggested.
