Seminole Tribe files land-into-trust application for site by casino

The Seminole Tribe filed a land-into-trust application for a 10-acre site adjacent to its casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The tribe plans to use the land next to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for housing. The site was formerly the home of a mobile home park.

But officials in the town of Davie are worried about an expansion of the casino. "We are concerned. We don't know what their plans are," attorney John Rayson told The South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The town sent a letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs opposing the application.
