A New Mexico man and his wife were sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution for stealing from the casino owned by Santa Ana Pueblo.

John Hoffman, 43, worked in the marketing department at Santa Ana Casino. He admitted that he accessed “Player’s Club” cards, added money to them and gave them to his wife, Michelle Fischer, 43, who passed them on to other gamblers.

Hoffman and Fischer, who received a cut of the winnings, pleaded guilty in March 2013. Both received two-year probation sentences and were ordered to pay $74,830.43 in restitution to the casino, the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Mexico said in a press release.
