An attorney for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe testified in support of a proposal to expand gaming options in South Dakota.

Slot machines poker and blackjack are legal in the state. House Joint Resolution 1001 authorizes a constitutional vote to allow roulette, keno, and craps in the city of Deadwood.

If voters approve the amendment, tribes would be able to offer the same games. Supporters believe younger patrons are more attracted craps and roulette.

"Gamblers are picky people," tribal attorney Seth Pearman told the South Dakota House's State Affairs Committee, the Associated Press reported.

The committee voted 10-1 to advance the bill.
